Jules Fromm

Jules Baron Fromm, 77, passed away on January 17, 2016. Born in Morristown, New Jersey on February 13, 1938, Mr. Fromm grew up in Plainfield, NJ. He graduated from Plainfield High School class of 1956 and RCA Institutes in New York City (now known as TCI College of Technology.)

After serving as a Sergeant in the Army Reserves, Mr. Fromm entered the family business, Fromm Electric Supply Organization, becoming President and Chief Executive Officer of the organization and managing offices in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

An enthusiast of all things aviation, he was a licensed recreational pilot who owned a Piper Comanche airplane and logged many flight hours. He was also a war history buff and collector of wartime memorabilia. Additionally, as a ham radio operator at his home and on the road, he loved the camaraderie with his fellow ham radio community. His unique call sign was K2DDT.

Mr. Fromm was a member of Temple Sholom in Plainfield. He was an avid theater patron at theaters all over New Jersey, New York City, as well as Chicago, Illinois.

He is preceded in death by his parents Rose and Alexander, sister Sandra Berman, brother-in-law Daniel Berman, and nephew Robert Berman. He is survived by daughter Keira Fromm of Chicago, son Keif Fromm of Hillsborough, niece Ellen Berman of Plainfield, former spouse Jana Scher of Bedminster, and his longtime significant other, Deanna Zollinger of Somerset. He will be missed by family and friends.
